I'm so needy this week! I need your help again!
Since you all did awesome answering my questions earlier this week, it's time to try again. This time, it might be more complicated.
Does anyone ever notice that when they upload to Blogger, their photos get duller and the color changes slightly? Maybe you don't even notice but the graphic designer in me gets annoyed by this.
Here's an example below. This photo looks awesome on my computer. The grass is bright green and looks very healthy. Here, it looks kinda dead and you wonder why Kitty is eating dead grass.
I did some research and it looks like some people suggested uploading PNG files instead of JPGs, but that didn't change the color. Other people suggested using Picasa to upload, but I can't use it because my mac is too old : (
Any other ideas? Make me feel stupid again with your brilliant suggestions!
I wish I had an answer for you. I use blogger, but it stumps me on a daily basis. Nothing ever works the way it is suppose to. The pic looks great, as it, but I understand your frustration. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteI find blogger odd and hard to understand too sometimes. My pictures aren't the greatest anyways so I haven't noticed anything with the photos. There are a ton of other inconsistencies though. Like, why can't I copy and paste anymore in a post? Very annoying.
ReplyDeleteHm... I never noticed that before. I export my pictures from Picassa to the desktop (resize them) and then upload them to Blogger. Not sure that helps. Blogger has a lot of weird quirks.
ReplyDeleteI guess with "free" software/platform, sometimes we take what we can get! Also, I have been enjoying your blog for a while so I named you as one of my "Blogs with Substance" - keep posting!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever noticed it. I use Flickr for all my pictures. I upload them to Flickr and then copy the html code into blogger. It's nice because you can choose the size you want as well. The only time I actually upload to blogger is if I'm taking a photo from another site and just copy the photo link to put into blogger.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean, and when I got my fancy new camera, that's when I broke down and REALLY couldn't stand any longer to use it!
ReplyDeleteI did a little research, and turns out Blogger's photo uploader takes your pretty photo and dumbs down the resolution so it doesn't have to store all those gigantic images for everyone. Efficient for Blogger, crappy for us.
So I switched completely to using Flickr. I upload all my pics to Flickr at full res (and with my DSLR all these pics are 5+ MB) and then you can grab the HTML for each pic at the Small, Medium, Large, or Original size. Medium fits just perfectly into my blog, so I use that one. But you can also just manually adjust in the html because the dimensions are specified.
If you're loading whopping big pictures like me, you'll need to get the full membership (it's free up to a certain number of MB) but it's only like $24 for the whole year and totally worth it.
Good luck! If you have any more questions let me know!
