Heavenly Hummus

I made this recipe to bring to work and everyone loved it, so I wanted to share it with you.

Ingredients:
• 2 cloves of minced garlic
• 4 T lemon juice
• 1 (19 oz.) can garbanzo beans (be sure to save 1/4 c of the liquid)
• 1/2 t salt
• cumin to taste
• 3 T tahini (What is tahini? See here.)
• pita bread

In a blender, mix the garlic, garbanzo beans, and reserved liquid from the garbanzo bean can. You can also take a few of the garbanzo beans from the can and save them for a garnish on the top of the dip before you serve. Blend well and then add lemon juice, tahini, salt, and cumin.

Blend until creamy

Cut pita bread into small slices for dipping

Pour blended hummus into a serving dish and garnish with some extra garbanzo beans

Serve with sliced pita bread. Yum!

  3. Ummm... my husband and I really like hummus and have made it several times (when we can find sesame paste in our area). Makes for a great appetizer!!!! Ironically, I think the older I get the more I like appetizers.

  9. I love, love, love hummus! I just made a black bean hummus that was awesome! I love how yours doesn't have any oil in it, I will sometimes put in a tbsp. of sesame oil but I keep the oil down as much as possible. Thanks!
